History of Cwmbran’s Cor Aduniad
One of the members wrote:
“Cor Aduniad has been born from Llantarnam School choir. Llantarnam school senior choir ran for 21 years, directed and conducted by Mr Geraint Davies. For choir members, it was a highlight of our years in school and so when I posted out on Facebook about the possibility of organising a reunion concert, A LOT of people showed a massive interest, and we are likely to have a choir of upwards of 80 past members, from throughout the life of the choir (some members are reaching their 40s now, some are still in school) and people are travelling from all over the country to be able to attend, which is obviously a testament to the choir, and to Geraint.
“In the 21 years of the senior choir running we have recorded 4 CD’s, gone on 7 tours abroad; singing in places such as Barcelona Cathedral, St Marks in Venice, St Davids hall (to name but a few), we have also sung at the National Eistedfodd, performed on the radio and done many charity performances. It really meant a lot to the students who were part of it, and to their families and friends, and the choir was well known within the community after singing regularly at the annual choral festivals and carol services.”
