Five homes planned for ‘Cherry Tree’ site in Upper Cwmbran

A planning application has been made for five new homes to be built on the site of a former social club in Upper Cwmbran.

The site is described in planning papers as the ‘Old Workmens Club’ off Graig Road. Local residents may remember it as the ‘Cherry Tree Club’.

Notices on lamposts in the area invite anyone to give views as part of the consultation. The plans are for two semi-detached houses and one detached house.

In April 2006, local media reported a fire at the disused club. The club was later demolished.

You can view the plans on the council’s website.

The consultation closes on 18 May. Comments can be sent via email to planning@torfaen.gov.uk or write to Civic Centre, Pontypool, NP4 6YB and quote ref no. 23/P/0207/FUL
