Staff at Cwmbran Centre for Young People have been given a number of prom dresses to help anyone who can’t afford one.
Many schools have end-of-year proms and the expensive prices of outfits can put a lot of pressure on pupils. The centre in Cwmbran has been given some dresses that they want to share with the community.
Kayleigh Boucher, from CCYP, said: “A few months ago CCYP was kindly donated some beautiful prom dresses. The generous women would like these to go to those who might be struggling due to the current financial climate, and we wholeheartedly agree, times are tough.
“If you, or someone you know needs a prom dress, would like to come and have a look at what we have or would like to ask about colours/ sizes etc please contact us and ask for Kim or Kayleigh. This will be kept private.
“In addition, if you are reading this post and would like to donate a prom dress, we would be happy to make sure it goes to a young person that can make good use of it.
*I wanted to just add that there will be no photos or posts showing who has received the dresses to avoid any discomfort to the young person. Although I’m sure they will look beautiful, their dignity is far more important to us.”
