Garden waste collections in Torfaen will start this week.
The green bin collection will be made from today- Monday 20 March. The green bin should be only used for garden waste including grass cuttings, leaves, hedge clippings, small twigs, dead plants and flowers. It can also be used to recycle bedding from small pets such as hamsters and guinea pigs.
Dog mess and cat litter must be placed in the purple-lidded wheelie bin for disposal. Food waste must not be put in the green bin but placed in the brown food caddy for recycling.
Don’t use plastic bags to store your garden waste, just put it straight in the bin.
Recycling targets
Currently, 62% of rubbish in Torfaen is recycled but the Welsh Government wants all local authorities in Wales to recycle 70% of rubbish by 2025.
When is my green bin collection day?
