Roman is a year three pupil at Henllys Church in Wales School.

He’s a member of the school’s writing club. I’ve visited the club to chat to them about different styles of writing and told them they could have their work published on Cwmbran Life.

Roman wrote this fantastic poem about his love of reading and some of his favourite books.

I like reading, it is so much fun.

I’ve liked it ever since I was young

Billionaire Boy is so rich in fame

The author is so famous the world knows his name!

I like reading, it is so much fun

I’ve liked it ever since I was young

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is my favourite of them all

After I’ve read that I’ll read some more

I like reading, it is so much fun.

I’ve liked it ever since I was young

The BFG is so tall

Compared to Sophie, she is so small

The BFG’s cave is so dark and dim

He’s hiding Sophie from the other giants within

I like reading, it is so much fun.

I’ve liked it ever since I was young

Cwmbran Life is working with several local schools to encourage young people to share their views and have a voice in the community. If you’re a teacher who wants to find out more please email ben@cwmbranlife.co.uk
