Staff in a ward at a hospital

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board have been overwhelmed by all the support, donations and generosity from businesses, organisations and individuals since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

People have been doing a range of kind work from sewing scrubs and making masks, to donating car seat covers, food and Easter eggs for frontline staff. Over £65,000 has been donated to their JustGiving page.

Children and families have sent in hundreds of photos, videos and pictures. The Board said “not one goes unnoticed” and the painted rainbows, created signs, written poems and sung songs of support have boosted the morale of staff.

Judith Paget, chief executive of Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, said, “We are so proud of the way our staff have responded positively to the challenges of COVID-19. The generosity of support from the public and businesses across Gwent has been overwhelming and we would like to express our gratitude to everyone, your support means a lot to all our staff during this challenging time.”
