Richard Parks was the guest speaker at Fairwater High School’s annual awards evening. Over six hundred pupils, parents, staff and guests packed out a room at the Parkway Hotel.
Helen Coulson, head teacher said: “Richard spoke to the guests and pupils about his recent expeditions ranging from the jungle to Antarctica. He described the difficulties and hardships he encountered and how he overcame them. He was absolutely inspirational and had the guests and pupils hanging on his every word.
“He also announced just before he left, that he promised to return to Fairwater High School to work more closely with pupils. He is an amazing man. It was a fantastic evening that clearly reflected the ethos and culture of Fairwater High School.”
The night was held in June and the photos were taken by Phil Darmanin.
