Customers shared 100s of lovely comments and memories following the news that Cwmbran’s Cane & Able shop is closing after 34 years in the town. Owner Meryl Evans is off to enjoy a well-deserved retirement.
Cwmbran Life can reveal the name of the business that has signed to move in to the store in June or July after Cane & Able has closed. Shoppers will be pleased to learn that it’s another independent business.
Mother Nature’s Goodies has stores in Abergavenny and Crickhowell.
Steve Tranter, from Mother Nature’s Goodies, said: “There is a great deal of similarity in the product offering between Cane and Able and ourselves and enough points of difference too excite both existing and new customers. We plan to continue to stock many of their top-performing lines but augment these with our vast range of natural products such as solid shampoos, conditioners, candles, aromatherapy oils etc. We will also feature our Inika Organic natural make-up range, which shares our ethos of vegan, organic, synthetic and cruelty-free.
“I doubt we will ever fill the boots of Cane and Able as they are big and well-trodden boots, almost a local institution. But what we can do is to continue to offer the majority of the lines they sold, together with affordable, natural products that both our online and retail customers have enjoyed since 2006. But the proof is in the pudding and we look forward to welcoming customers old and new.”
