Two successful businesswomen, Debbie Gliniany and Vicki Spencer-Francis, shared their experiences at the Women in Business event held last Thursday at the Parkway Hotel in Cwmbran.
Debbie, founder of Mamau Ffit, spoke about her passion for fitness and women’s health, which led her to start her business.
Vicki, managing director of Cowshed Communications, offered insights from her journey running a PR agency.
Over 100 businesswomen attended the event, which the UK Shared Prosperity Fund funded. The evening included networking opportunities, a mini Christmas market, and live entertainment.
Debbie, from Cwmbran, set up her business in January 2020, said: “I have found my passion – I get to make a difference to people’s lives. Self-belief has been my biggest tool – I followed my passion to get me where I am today and I will continue to do so.”
Vicki, from Monmouthshire, said: “I wanted to make sure my business was as meaningful as it could be. We’ve stayed true to our purpose – everything we deliver has true meaning, value and impact.”
Proceeds from the event and a raffle were donated to Cyfannol Women’s Aid, which supports victims of domestic abuse and sexual violence.
The event was organised by the Torfaen Council’s business engagement team.
